Katy Perry, an American performer and songwriter, was raised in a strict family. She began singing gospel songs in her teens after spending her early years in the church. Perry loved all sorts of music even though her parents didn't allow the practice, since she was always intrigued by music. Perry was a flamboyant individual who pursued her dream to become a musician. Her first big break was difficult and she had overcome numerous obstacles. A lot of her tracks were deleted before she was signed by 'Capitol Records. The album she released as her second studio album, 'One of the Boys' proved to be a huge hit which marked a major turning point in her career. Thus, her professional career as a performer was launched. It was her next album, "Teenage Dreams", which enthralled a lot of people who love music, and turned it into one of the top albums of all time. It was the source of many records and established Katy Perry's status as a prominent artist. Perry's philanthropic efforts are not simply attributed to her song writer and singer and songwriter, but also because of her numerous records that she's produced. She is also an activist that promotes LGBT rights.
